Rev. Sandra E. (Sandy) Lacey

Sandy was born in Columbia City, Indiana, and grew up in central Florida after her parents retired there.  After graduating from Florida State University, she worked briefly for the Baptist Children’s Home in that area before moving to Louisville, Kentucky, to begin seminary education at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.  Changes in the denomination and the school discouraged her further work there, and she left after two years.

Sandy brings a valuable and varied work experience to her ministry.  While in Louisville and later in south Alabama, she worked in the social work field for more than 20 years.

Sandy returned to school in 2004 to complete a Master of Divinity degree at Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia.  After graduation in 2007, she did supply preaching at various churches within the Presbytery of South Alabama before joining Evergreen Presbyterian Church, in Dothan, Alabama, as an associate pastor on Jan.1, 2008.  In July 2013, Sandy began her ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Frankfort as pastor/head of staff.  Sandy’s passions for ministry include pastoral care, preaching, teaching the faith, and interfaith dialogue.  Sandy also serves on the Presbytery of Mid-Kentucky’s Commission on Ministry and locally on the board of directors for the Franklin County Women’s Shelter.

Sandy’s husband, Mike, is retired and serves as a lay chaplain.  They have two sons, Paul and Patrick, who have graduated from college and are gainfully employed. One granddog, Cheyenne, currently resides with them and keeps the cat on her toes.

Sheri and her husband, William, reside in Frankfort and have been married 36 years. Their daughter, Kristin is married to Jonathan West and they reside in Salvisa with their two daughters, Kyler & Kora.
